3. Place the paper into the paper tray
with the side to be printed facing
toward you. Adjust the position of the
paper so that its right edge is up
against the right paper guide. Then
move the left paper guide until it is
resting gently against the left edge of
the paper. The paper tray can be
filled to the MAX line with standard
weight paper (16 to 24 lbs. or about
60 to 90 g/m
2
).
If copying onto an envelope:
Insert the side to be copied on is
facing upwards (as shown by the
imprint on the paper tray) and the flap
on the reverse side is closed and at
the right when looking from the front
of the printer. Leave a gap of
approximately
1
/
32
” (1 mm) between
the paper guide and the left edge of
the envelope.
When copying envelopes, labels
and transparencies, it is
recommended that you load and
copy one envelope or sheet at a
time.
4. Push the paper release lever back. The paper will be clamped by the
paper feed roller inside the printer.
The handle may position itself. Do not force the handle or
breakage could occur.
Paper jams may occur if:
The paper tray is overstacked.
If the space between the paper guide and the left edge of the
paper is greater than 1 mm, or if the paper guide is pushing the
paper so hard that the paper buckles.
The paper is not stored properly and absorbs moisture from
the air (replace the paper).
